Warrant issued for woman nabbed after HDH disturbance
Police say unresponsive female awoke, fled hospital
A warrant has been issued for a Bainbridge woman who was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly ran out of the emergency room at Highland District Hospital, hopped into a vehicle with two men and was later picked up after being spotted leaving a motel parking lot.
Kristen Collett, 18, Bainbridge, failed to appear for her scheduled court appearance Wednesday morning, and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
According to the Hillsboro Police Department, at 4:35 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to an alarm at HDH, due to a disturbance in the emergency room. Upon arrival, an employee advised police that a female was brought in unresponsive by two males.
Once inside the hospital, the female awoke and then ran out of the emergency room, getting into a Dodge Charger with two males.
After patrolling for the vehicle, police observed the car leaving the Days Inn parking lot, driving off at a high rate of speed westbound on Harry Sauner Road. The vehicle was stopped in the area of Roberts Lane at 4:43 a.m.
Police said the male driver was identified as Nicky Kerwood of Hillsboro. The female passenger, Collett, was arrested and transported to the Highland County Justice Center for possessing drug abuse instruments.
A Hillsboro Municipal Court clerk said that Collett failed to appear for her scheduled arraignment Wednesday, and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
